There is little about the Capo Modena Jersey that doesn't already scream 'timeless.' A staple training or club ride kit, the Modena looks and fits like a classic for years to come. It doesn't hurt that it looks fast too, with its signature double racing-striped motif running down the left side of the jersey. Fun fact: Modena is named after the legendary autodrome in Modena, Italy, where the speed and tradition go hand-in-hand. Just like this jersey.
The Modena Jersey uses Capo Drop fabric. This is Capo's most versatile knit, with tiny teardrop vents throughout the material, resembling an extra-fine stretch mesh. Drop fabric wicks well, breathes well, and has some stretch to it. The fabric is also durable; it can take years of machine washing and drying and still look the same as it did when new. The material is not so stretchy that the jersey has to fit tight. Somewhat close is more the style cue here.
The Modena Jersey has a hidden, full-length, lockable zipper. With its raglan sleeve construction (rather than set-in sleeves), reaching for the handlebars is a natural-feeling affair that maximizes in-saddle comfort without stretching out the shoulders. As is the case with many jerseys, these have three pockets in back and a silicone gel gripper at the waist to help keep things in place.
The Capo Modena Short Sleeve Jersey comes in Black with white racing stripes, White with black racing stripes, and new for this year, Navy Blue with white and red racing stripes. Sizes run from Small to XX-Large.
Bottom Line: Keep it simple ... and you know how the rest goes.
I own this jersey and there's no elastic around the sleeves. However, I have very skinny arms and the sleeve material is form fitting and provides a tight, non-moving fit that's comfortable.
Purchased this a month and used it during the peak of summer (here in Vancouver anyway.)
Jersey looks great, fits well and material is nice, although I prefer Castelli. Fit is slightly slimmer than Castelli for comparison and I'm pretty big overall. Traps in heat slightly but the zipper can take care of that heat dump on an instant. Pockets are nicely finished so nothing jumps out.
Workmanship is up on top and is made in Italy. For the sake of the brand itself, I purchased another Capo jersey from Art's Cyclery. A month into use, the stitching came off. I got in touch with Capo and they warrantied it for me. Minor inconvenience but goes to show they care about their customers.
Would I recommend this jersey? Yes. Especially it being not-so-flashy like other brands being so fashion forward.
An awesome combo. I have the long and short sleeve jersey and bib shorts- all in black/ large. ( 160lbs 6'1") The set looks so nice and rides great- no compromises. Unfortunately RC doesn't have anymore size large in bib shorts- with all the respect to RC, go to Art's Cyclery- they have the bib in black/ large. If you want the long sleeve jersey in black/large- go to Mikesbikes- just a pointer as this season closes and this inventory gets moved around fast!
I normally buy Castelli, especially when it goes on sale but saw this Capo Modena on sale briefly and decided to pick it up.
Not knowing what to expect, I had to do some homework in regards to sizing so I had only my Castelli to reference. After figuring out which size worked, I took the leap of faith and lucked out with my order - it fits true to their sizing chart.
Overall, great materials and craftsmanship. In fact, I prefer this over my Castelli jerseys. This one is not particularly as "thin" compared to my Castelli's but so far breathes very well in this Vancouver weather and allows me to dump the heat with the zipper down. The jersey pockets aren't as stretchy as my Castelli's so this is a bonus. I don't have to worry so much that my keys or phone will fall out.
This was my second Capo jersey and both fell apart in short order. First one had a thread come loose on the chest, the second had the stitching on the sleeve come loose and completely pull apart. Stylish looks, good fit, but they just dont last long at all.

UPS delivered it this morning, and I was out for a ride this evening, 59, 190Lbs, ordered XL, in black, the fit is perfect, not to tight, not to loose. A very comfortable cycle jersey. Not busy with sponsors graphics. Dont mind the Capo Logo at all. I was not dripping wet at the end of my ride like usual, with a cotton t-shirt and shorts, thats why I bought a cycle jersey, so Im very pleased with this purchase. This is the first cycle jersey Ive ever purchased, so cant compare it to anything else, I can only say I was not disappointed. I bought the Bibs too, this is my first kit. For the price, I think this was a great investment in my cycling comfort. Couldnt find a local retailer in Canada. Was on sale here online, so jumped on the sale price, the only disappointment was I really got nailed with duty and taxes yikes.
Picked up this jersey in white to have a light colored jersey to wear on hot summer days. The style of the jersey is very simple and I find it attractive because you're not flaunting some random sponsors who are benefitting from your free advertising. The material and stitching is high quality and the fit is Euro/race. I like the full zipper feature and this is one of my "go to" jerseys for the majorify of my rides in the summer.
I originally bought this in an XL which fit me like a skin suit. The arms were way too tight and the length was pretty short. I exchanged it for an XXL and it fits me perfectly. I love the full zip and the non binding arms. Wore it today on a 25 mile ride in 90 degree temperatures and it was comfortable the entire ride and I stayed nice and cool. I'm 6'3" 205 pounds with broad shoulders and large arms and an athletic build. Usually an XL fits me, even in a race cut but on this one I needed to size up.. If you're between sizes, I'd recommend going up a size.
take heed to this recommendation, im 6ft, 198lbs,athletic build and the xL was way too tight, lost my s&h so i paid 2x for s&h since i wanted to wear this for the weekend, get your sizes right with this company or you lose any s&h you pay, as far as the jersey, 9 out of 10 since nothing is perfect
Well as the title says this jersey is just simply excellent. The cut/fit is slim and tight but not skin tight. The gripper goes all the way around the bottom to keep the jersey in place and the full zip helps you dump heat if you really need it. I ordered this jersey in white and so far it has kept me cool on some very hot days, the fabric vents quite well. All in all, this jersey does and has everything I was looking for at a price that can't be beat.
this is a great jersey and the race fit is just what the doctor ordered I recommend this as a solid buy for the people that want to put the miles in and not be soaked at the end
love this jersey, design is simple yet stylish, i can't stand really flamboyant brightly colored kits, so this one suits me really well. I'm 6'1" 175lbs i bought a medium. Fit is very snug, if i were any taller or heavier this size wouldn't work out for me. Material feels very solid, rode today here on long island was something like 85 degrees, i felt nice and cool. Overall great value and great jersey
I love this jersey. Fit fits great and looks really good. I'm 5'11", 154 lbs and have a 40 inch chest and large arms so I bought the medium. It fits perfectly and is very comfortable. I bought this jersey in white and at a great price. I'm definitely a Capo fan now.
My new Capo ls jers finally arrived. It took just over 2 weeks to deliver to Toronto (be sure to choose the duty fee included shipping option or you will get nailed$$$$). This jers is pretty sick and fits perfect It. On me it's close to the body, not Tour de France tight but snug-ish. I am 6' & 177-180lbs with a 39-40" chest. I purchased the large: I have large shoulders and arms than the average cyclist with a 31-32" waist and this jers fits spot on. I hate the super flashy jerseys and this is sublte and beautiful with just "Capo" branding which I prefer. They are cut a tad shorter than most but with bibs on it's great and sits comfortably at the waist/lower back. It appears to have good venting and material construction. It's 40c here today so I guess I will find out how cool it runs shortly! Good value for the money.
