Only managed 40 miles

Let me preface the review with the fact that the first time I wore them I was riding in a Century ride and crashed after 40 miles. The crash was bad enough to finish my ride and tear a hole in these knickers.

Prior to the crash though, these were comfortable and warm. I will be buying a replacement pair (rather than contacting Castelli and saying they have a hole in them.. ha ha).

These are made of the same lycra that the Dome Due Short and Bib are made of only longer to cover the knees.

Great fit but stitching needs help

Great fit, comfortable on long rides (100+ mi), the only problems I ran into came after a few uses, the stitching along the outer leg panel was unraveling . Luckily I knew someone that could mend them with the correct stitch. Seems they need to work on their quality but the comfort is there.

Very nice knickers

In general these are really nice knickers...the fit is right on, the padding is good, and the finish is really nice, as is the case with all Castelli gear. When I first wore them, it felt like the wind was passing through the fabric a bit much, but in reality, the fabric seems no thinner than any other riding shorts I have, so I can't explain it. I might try wearing a layer under them...that will probably make them perfect for me. Others might find them perfect right out of the package, as riding gear is subjective, always. That said, very good gear that I could recommend.
