Gore RideOn Low Friction Road Brake Cable Kit - 2008

Go ahead and bitch about your weak brakes, but unless you're using GORE RideOn Low Friction Road Brake Cables, it's probably your worn-out cables' fault. Cable stretch saps braking power, so GORE RideOn braids the cables in the Low Friction Road Brake Cable Kit from stainless steel. Friction makes lever actuation harder, so GORE RideOn coated the cables and housing with Teflon. The result is smoother, more powerful braking and precise modulation, and less effort exerted on your part. Now go get that stage jersey.

Bottom Line: Better brakes are a GORE RideOn cable kit away.

The cables work as advertised. That's unusual today. Installation went well. Smooth as butter. We'll see how long they last.

You would need the SL sealed system which is available on www.hucknroll.com

Probably not. Gore makes a extra long for tandems and Time trail bikes. When I installed on my bike, there was only about 1 foot extra.

Marginal performance improvement doesn't justify cost

By: sam2800734
February 16, 2009

I upgraded to RideOn brake and shifter cables on my Dura Ace 7800 equipped bike. There is no question that the quality of Gore products is top notch but I just don't notice much of a performance improvement over stock DA cables to justify the cost.

One size fits all. There's no difference in the cable that is used on either component group.

This version has gray housing. We introduced white housing to the market at the Interbike trade show 2 weeks ago and Backcountry should have it in stock in a week or soDave - GORE™ RideOn® Cables -----------------------------------------------------The white now appears to be available.
