Pinarello FP3 Ultegra Bike - 2009 - Women's - 2009

The FP3 Ultegra Women’s Road Bike is based on the world-famous Prince model, but Pinarello uses 30HM12K carbon fiber to provide a reasonable price. Dressed up with smooth shifting Shimano Ultegra components and a MOst carbon cockpit, the FP3 delivers a ride quality that parallels the unique characteristics of the Prince. Taiwan, almost all bikes are made there these days. They have amazing bike making facilities over there. They are designed in Italy but Taiwan has the best carbon manufacturing so they are made there.

Write your question here.. Can I get this bike with a triple? How do I know what size to order? I am 5'0" and currently have a Litespeed with 650 wheels.I believe it is a 48cm but have never felt comfortable on it and sometimes develope pretty bad neck issues.

Hello Sandy,
The answer to your question is twofold. You could get a triple put on it at your LBS (local bike shop) but that begs the question as to why you'd want to do that. You see, a triple ULTEGRA chainring usually consists of the large chainring (size 52T) that has 52 teeth, ergo the size. Then, the middle chainring is usually a size 39T and the third is a 30T. The Pinarello FP3 comes with a COMPACT crankset that has only a double but the main difference is that the chainrings have FEWER teeth. The large ring is a 50T and the small is a 34T. What this means is that if you are used to the triple, when you go to the double compact your power level and your cadence (revolutions on your pedals) will increase because you will not have to push such big gears. More teeth in front means you have to use more energy to get going and thus your knees will tire faster. I know this because my last bike had an Ultegra triple and my FP3 has the above mentioned compact crankset. The difference is night and day and my knees thank me!
