I recieved my Castelli shorts, wore them one time, and the kiss pad came unstitched. However, I called, they sent another pair, no shipping charge, no debate. He apologized and I appreciated the way he handled the situation. Good Company with Customer Satisfaction due to people taking responsibility. Thanks, I will always shop here.

Is there a liner or double layer on the crotch? I am looking for a pair of shorts with a very thin front area. No pads no extra material. Any suggestions?

As with all "cycling" shorts these do have a chamois.

For shorts with no pad, "tights" is the key word. You can check them out at:

great short... but seriously on the small side. i usually take an XL (34" waist) and i felt like i could barely get 1 leg in... very tight. going for the XXL next time.

I do like the quality of these shorts and would say that they are very good for what you pay. They are on the small side. I have a medium in all my other shorts and got these in a large. They fit right but I might even consider going another size up just because like the other review states, the elastic grippers on the ends are super tight. But other than that they are a great short and would buy another pair.

great short, great liner. The only problem is grippers are very tight. I have good leg muscles so the squeeze is there. I've stretched them out and that will take time. And I ordered Large. Euro sizing is smaller than USA. Pearl Izumi, I wear a Medium. Other than that, I find these shorts great for the price. Yes, as price goes up one gets better quality materials, stitching and chamois. So for this price, they are a very nice short.
