Castelli Velo Jacket - Men's

A little weather won't stop the Castelli Men's Velo Jacket. Forcefield fabric resists wind and water when the weather is less than optimal, but still breathes like a champ for those steep climbs. When things clear up, tuck the Velo into your jersey's back pocket and finish the ride in comfort.

Bottom Line: A bit of wind and water are no match for the Castelli Velo Jacket.

Does a good job as a windbreaker

Overall, a good, light jacket when used as a windbreaker. Very light/packable and fits easily in a jersey pocket. It does not serve you well in the rain- gets soaked fast and sticks to you. I'd size up one- I usually wear a Medium, and a Large is barely big enough.

I actually ordered a medium before you replied, it fits well, i think i'll be "ok" with a few layers. A large might be ok but also might be baggy. I think i'm in the middle of sizes. Time to drop a few lbs! But this is a very nice and light jacket...

For you I would recommend an XL it will leave you enough room to layer under it if needed.

good light weight jacket,, slim fit ,,maybe a little tight through the forearms and you will have sweat build up on a longer ride,, good insurance gear to get you home warm and dry,, nice high collar,, overall am happy with it

Better than Teseo Jacket

I needed a replacement for my Castelli Teseo Jacket, which flapped around too much in the wind/during descents. I mean, the noise alone it was maddening. The Velo jacket is much better. A softer fabric, that also seems to breath a little better than the Teseo. Maybe it's not as waterproof, but I'll take the tradeoff. For me, I wish the cut were a little slimer, but other than that, it's perfect for what it tries to be.
