When the clouds open up on your ride, pull out the GORE Bike Wear Oxygen III Jacket, put your head down, and push on. This ultra-minimal cycling shell provides full storm protection thanks to GORE Paclite Shell fabric, and stuffs away into its own stow sack for easy carry. A dropped tail covers your butt when you’re on the drops and stretch GORE-TEX shoulder panels allow full mobility on the bars, but don’t presume you’ll be wearing the Oxygen III Jacket around town. It has exactly zero pockets, and its close, ergonomic cut feels most natural in a tight cycling posture. Then again, if you spend as much time in the saddle as we do, anything more is just excess weight.
Bottom Line: Pure cycling function to brave the storm.
just ordered this jacket, great deal! ordered a small, im not too tall, 5'10.5 , but skinny, so hopefully its not too tight that i cant fit a jacket underneath.
real cyclist is great though, ordered kicks before, and i hear their exchange policy is top notch.
great site, feels like how eCommerce should be ; sick deals and great service.

If you like a low-profile, compactable rain jacket that doesn't act like a parachute when dropping the hammer, then this is for you. If you like lots of pockets and a loose fit for running around town, you'll want to pass on this one. Based on my riding style, this is a perfect fit and it can be rolled up and easily stoed in a pocket. Keep in mind, they're cut for a trim fit, so if you plan to wear something heavier underneath for those cold, wet rides, you might consider the next size up. I normally wear a large, but went with XL for this reason.
I used this jacket for the first time & got caught in a major downpour! Our TNT training team was out in some heavy rain for a few hours and no water got in or through this gear! Plus I didn't sweat on the inside even though we were booking up some steeps.
I commute on my bicycle to work and school year around in Portland Oregon and use this jacket to keep me dry in the winter. It works great and packs into a small package that still leaves room in my backpack for books and the likes. It fits tight but stretches enough for me to were my REI Neo Jacket underneath for the cold rides home. I have only had this product for a couple of month's but have ridden though some really crazy rain (heavy downpours for as long as eight miles). It kept me dry and provided no problems. Really a great investment for any cyclist winter/rain gear collection.
As the end of the riding season approaches here in the Chicagoland area I looked for a shell to help extend the season. My shell from last year left me wet and sometimes cold. I should have know better than to try a save a couple of bucks when it came to riding weather protection. This cycling jacket continues to perform! I left home earlier this week at about 34 degrees and finished the ride at about 45 degrees. The jacket hugs my body, stays out of the wind and most importantly breaths. This engineered fabric simply sets the standard.
Great for weather proof, it is Goretex so as expected. Tight fit, no flapping coming down the canyon. I'm 5'8" and 138 pounds and it's tight with a poly undershirt and light short sleeve jersey. Packs well into regular jersey pocket. Just for the bike. I added two Velcro tabs to keep the tail folded up inside itself unless it is wet, as I am short and don't like the tail hanging below the saddle, then the tail is there if I need it. Also, may have a seamstress add a couple of 8" zippers like the Gore long sleeve jersey to vent on climbs. Best cycling jacket I have, I like it.
Bought this jacket to replace a Craft Active Rain jacket. I ride in the Seattle area so lots of rides with wind, rain, and 40 - 60 degrees. This jacket fits great when you are on the bike = no excess material but still comfortable. You should buy a size up if you want to layer under the jacket. I am 5' 6" and 150 lbs and I ordered a Large. Body length is perfect with adequate room for a base layer and a winter-weight jersey. The arms are slightly long for me. The jacket is waterproof + windproof. But it has NO vents. I found that I could overwhelm the breathability of the jersey when riding hard, in the low 50s, and with a base layer + long sleeve jersey. I was easily able to control the heat/sweat level by opening up the zipper. So, I like the jacket for my typical 2 hour winter training rides. For longer rides, I would be very careful re my layer choices. FWIW: The Oxygen jacket blows away the Craft Active for fit, quality of construction, + breathability.
I recently purchased the jacket to handle a cold century ride in the mountains. As is par for rides this type of year it was 35 degrees for the 14 mile downhill, and the jacket was a perfect breathable windbreaker. When we got caught in a Hail storm later in the afternoon the jacket went back on. Despite downpours and strong winds with sunny breaks, I stayed dry and held minimal sweat. My buddy grabbed a regular rain jacket and was either sweating, or worse, the jacket was up the middle of his back and he was soaked. Overall it was one of the best investments I have made. It breathes, fits snuggly top to bottom, and packs into a puch that will fit intot he back of your jersey.
As a note, believe teh CHEST measurements when ordering the jacket. I'm 5'7", 155# and the chest is custom tight fit.
