Giro Me2 Helmet - Kids'

Even the youngest of riders deserve Giro protection. The Kids' Me2 Helmet combines proven safety design with fun graphics and parent-friendly features. The lightweight Microshell construction meets all ANSI standards, and the easily-adjustable Mini Loc system ensures a snug fit without pinching.

Bottom Line: The Giro Me2 provides big protection for tiny heads.

Cool Kid Helmet

By: Andrew McLean
July 8, 2009

We bought this helmet for our two year old and it seems to fit and work perfectly, plus she loves wearing it. I found the straps easy to adjust and it stays in place on her head (she is right at the 50% medium for size/weight).

Like many adult helmets, this is a basic foam shell with a thin plastic cover and excellent super duck graphics. The protection isn't quite up there with a full-on hardshell helmet, but for general toddling around and bike riding, I think it is fine.

Too Darn Cute

By: Jamie Preston
July 3, 2009

The cuteness factor alone should make you buy the Giro Me2 helmet! It's fit is pretty good, but our daughter has a very small head. While the circumference adjustment is great, the chin strap is a little far forward for our gal, it works, but we need to fiddle somewhat on a regular basis. But she will quickly grow into it and we expect great use for the next few years. It seems like there not a lot of choices in the Munchkin size range, but this is a pretty good one.

Does this helmet stay positioned properly on a kids head ? The one I have for my son always moves to the back of his head no matter how I adjust the straps.

Helmet, radio and skinned knees

These helmets are so light and comfy to wear that our daughter often just puts it on as a fashion accessory to walk around the house with, which isn't a bad idea considering how many times a day she gets knocked over by the dogs.

Great for infants and toddlers

By: jkgehling609823
June 2, 2008

This helmet fits my 10 month old perfectly. His head size is in the 50th percentile for his age. The dial on the back is very easy to adjust the tightness. My only complaint is that I wish the clasp were on the side of the face instead of being under the chin, you have to be careful not to pinch skin.

Great helmet!

By: Katy Reasoner
July 11, 2009

We use this helmet for our 10 month old son. It is a little big, but he will grow into it! My only complaint would be that the inner web that fits to his head has already come unglued from the hard shell, and we've only used it maybe 10 times. For what we needed, a good helmet for a little kid, this helmet is exactly what we needed-plus it has a cute pattern-Duck, Duck, Goose!

My 15 month old wears it. What's great about this helmet is that it adjusts quite a bit for a smaller head (and easily for that matter too). See pic entitled "Biking in the cold" above.

Worth the $$

You pay for what you get. I have 4 kids they all have Giro helmets. We ride at least 4-5 times a week. They hold up to the wear & tear off kids. Great product!

Good fit - padding questionable

By: David Richards Realcyclist.com Employee
April 10, 2009

This helmet is very adjustable - adjust very easily with helmet on your child's head by simply twisting a dial. However, if you adjust too tight, I've found that the comfort padding the covers the interior "straps" has a tendency to come undone.
