Gore Bike Wear Xenon AS Jacket - Men's

GORE Bike Wear designed the Xenon AS Jacket specifically for your cyclist posture. This jacket uses WindStopper fabric and a tight, extreme-cycle-specific fit to fight the elements and increase comfort throughout your ride. Articulated elbows and stretch inserts increase flexibility while the extra-long back increases coverage. The part-elastic hem and adjustable cuffs eliminate bunching.

is this jacket waterproof?

the pores of the windstopper membrane are larger than gore-tex, this allows seapage and heavy downpours, gore-tex is best for heavy rain, but windstopper is water resistant

We do not consider this jacket waterproof as the seams are not sealed nor is the zipper waterproof. Despite this fact, water can not penetrate the body of the jacket because of the WINDSTOPPER® membrane. Therefore, if you get caught in a rain storm, you'll stay for 30-60 mins before you might experience some seepage at the seams or zipper. If you are going to be out riding no matter what the conditions, I would recommend a GORE-TEX® jacket.

No, you wouldn't want to choose this jacket in a rain storm. In fact, much of the sides of the jacket is a mesh fabric to let body moisture out. But on a cool morning fast ride this jacket cannot be beat. It stops the wind chill without flapping around like a flag.
