Litespeed was born out of necessity. Unhappy with the bicycle offerings from manufacturers during the mid-eighties, the industrial employees of Southeast Machine applied their resources and titanium expertise to produce some of the first Ti bikes. Industry interest increased significantly after a visit to the cycling tradeshows, and what started as a handful of employees working after hours quickly developed into a respected titanium bicycle manufacturer. By pushing manufacturing techniques into the future, and maintaining a healthy dislike for anything run-of-the-mill, Litespeed continues to set the bar for titanium road and mountain bikes to this day.
