Princeton Tec Eos Bike Light - 2008

Strap on the Princeton Tec Eos Bike Light to either your handlebars or your helmet and blaze a path home during your next commute. This versatile, waterproof bike light uses a single ultrabright LED bulb to throw out 50 lumens of light, enough to spot a parked car from 60 meters out. The narrow beam has three different settings and a flash mode, and lasts about six hours on high power. Awesome light

For the price, I think this is a great light. I love that it can attach either to my helmet or my bike frame. It's 3 different brightness modes are great for those times when all you need is a signal and when you actually need to light your path. That way you're not going through batteries so quick. highly recommended.

I see a velcro mount that could be use in conjunction with a bicycle helmet. Does this come with an elastic headstrap to use off the bike? I want to also use it for hiking/backpacking and other misc chores around the house that might require my hands to be free.UPDATE:Just found out that this model got updated with a 1w Rebel lens (50 lumens) and now includes the accessory headstrap for off bike use. The one on this page is the older 25 lumen model.

Decent light for the money

Plenty bright, reasonable price. I have the analog headlamp and liked that, so I thought I'd try the bike light as well. It would probably be best as a handlebar mount though. I have it on my helmet; the helmet mount straps are amazingly inconvenient to use and all the ways to attach that I've tried end up pressing the mounting straps into my head.
