nice to have

i didnt think i really needed one but my wife bought me a stand as a gift a few years ago. what a difference it makes. if you work on your bikes, you NEED a stand. if you dont work on your bikes, youre a fool. the clamp is nice an rotates easy. the height adjustment is also pretty cool depending on what kind of bike and what youre working on. park stuff rules.

If you want a portable stand buy an Ultimate or PCS9/10/11

If the previous reviewer had spent 10mins on the internet researching the PCS 4 he'd have known that it wasn't really portable. No excuse.

This is a solid, durable, heavy duty stand, extremley stable with a top quality 'shop' clamp. It holds the bike steady at any angle and is heavy enough to take a fair bit of leverage e.g. stuck BB. This stand was recommended to by a bike mechanic and I'm very pleased withit

If you are thinking of setting up a your home workshop or can afford the space to leave it up permanently this is the stand for you. If portability is important to you then look elsewhere.

Folding does not mean portable

This repair stand performs OK. It has a nice shop quality clamp and is fairly stable, but......it might as well not fold at all. It's certainly not as portable as some of the other options out there. So why does it fold the way it does? Maybe so you can lean it against the wall or lay it under your bed, I just don't know. It's literally a pain as I seem to pinch a finger in the folding legs every time I fold the thing up! That may be the reason for my ill will against this stand. Short of getting a shop stand, I'll go for the Ultimate stand every time from now on.
