Pearl Izumi Amfib Tight - Women's

Shield your legs from the performance-impairing effects of wind and rain with the Pearl Izumi Women's AmFib Tights. AmFib stretch panels offer weather protection during off-season runs. Kodiak ThermaFleece holds warmth next to your body and wicks moisture away from your skin, so your legs stay dry and temperate. Gripper hem elastic keeps the AmFib Tights in place while you run or ride, and eight-inch ankle zippers let you whip these puppies off without touching your shoes.

Bottom Line: When fair weather fades, reach for the Pearl Izumi AmFib Tights.

Best Buy I've made yet! Well worth the investment!

By: cyclingolfer

I read what others had said about these tights and couldn't believe how great they REALLY are. Front panels keep wind & wet weather out, while back allows for air so you don't overheat. I use these pants for cycling and believe it or not even without a shammy they are great! Have used them on rides 40-50 miles no problem especially work well when its 40*-50* out and feels colder in the wind. If you need to wear a pair of shorts underneath -there is room but I opted to use them alone. They are also great for running. I ordered size SM - at 5'2" and107 they are a great fit, bit long in legs but not a problem once i get cycling they work into place and my ankles stay covered. Honestly can say this is one of the BEST buys I've made. Have all the women in my cycling group ordering them too. Great look, great fit and they keep you warm to bike or run anytime the temp goes below 60*

Really warm running/ riding tights!

By: Veronica
August 21, 2009

The front is windproof, the back is not, so your legs can breathe. The back material is light and the front pretty heavy. My legs get sweaty in the coldest of runs (I run when it is in the negatives too). The one thing I am not crazy about is the waist of these tights. Even though it has a draw cord, it keeps coming loose somehow and I find that the pants ride low eventually. Not the best if it is really cold out. Also, and this is super minor, but irritating - the Pearl Izumi tag in the back of the waist is inscreadubly scratchy. Maybe they have changed this in the most recent models tho...

does it have a chamois?

does it have a chamois?

No. The AmFib doesn't have a chamois. You wear your chamoised shorts underneath. The wind protection (on the front of the legs) is incredible, though, and I highly, highly recommend these for winter riding. In my book, they are necessary if you're going out to brave the cold on your bike. (I run in them sometimes too, but only on super frigid days. I prefer them for riding.)

Ideal outer barrier for cold cold days

By: Lisa in NY
December 29, 2008

I went riding in NY on a cold cold day. It was around freezing. I wore 2 pairs o shorts and leg warmers. But my knee's and thighs got really cold. So i bought these pants to wear over the top of all that kit. So now, I wouldn't say I am toasty, but i don't get cold in those zero and sub-zero (celcius) conditions anymore. Which means I can keep riding through winter. And that... makes them worth every penny!

Perfect for Winter Weather

By: amy2532345
January 2, 2009

This was the best money I've spent since becoming a cyclist. Pacific Northwest winter weather has nothing on these pants! Not only do they completely protect me from the wind, rain and cold when I'm on my bike, but they are one of the most comfortable things I've worn while riding. The fleece inner lining feels like I'm wearing pajamas and with the zippers, they are a cinch to take off. These pants are worth whatever the price tag may be.

Hot pants, baby

By: Marit Fischer Realcyclist.com Employee
November 3, 2008

These tights are the reason I can ride when it's below 0 and windy as hell along the Wasatch Front in January. They are warm, comfortable, flexi and wind-shielding. My life would be miserable without them. Another testament to their greatness is that all my girlfriends (who ride with me on those gnarly days when no one else is on the road) wear them too. They're just plain necessary.
