Pinarello developed the FP2 Road Bike to give riders a seriously plush, quick, and fast feel without forcing them to go to carbon. The extra helping of durability makes this high-performance aluminum ride a great choice as an every-day bike instead of having something that gathers dust until race day. Pinarello hooks you up with Ultegra components and a carbon fork to keep weight down while increasing performance.
Triple-butted 6061 aluminum frame for weight reduction
ONDA FP Carbon fork and seatstays take the edge off of road imperfections
MOst compact crank for high-cadence spinning
MOst cockpit components for secure handling
Bottom Line: Who needs to drop all that money on pure carbon?
I am purchasing a new 2007 Pinarello Galileo Ultega and is this bike the same as a 2009 Pinarello FP2 Ultega. Also, does the Galileo have the bb30 design.
I'm interested in the 2009s, it's just that the 2010's FP2 is made of carbon instead aluminium.. So it wouls be nice to know the price and features. Thanks!
Evan, I am 5'11" 175 lbs and I have a 53 Pinarello FP5. To me the 53 Pinarello's from the FP series ride more like a 55 due to the effective top tube measurement. I normally ride a 55/56 effective top tube measurement. This may not answer you question 100%, but I thought that I would chime in since we are similar builds. The 54 may work if you prefer a more "stretched out" feel to your road bike. Give us a call & we'll chat more? Ask for Chris Jones!
I can honestly say that I am impressed with the quality and spec of this bike. So wonderfully sexy & great group. Be unique, dont' even think about that Specialized or Trek. Go for a premium Italian bike. Throw your leg over this Italian stallion. Don't like it? We'll take it back no problem!
We will need more information than your pants inseam for a good, proper fit. Please give us a call or jump on live chat and we will be happy to help you find the size for you.
It doesn't really matter, actually. It's all marketing. Get a fitting and check if the geometry will work out for you. Or better yet, test ride it if there is one available near you.
No this is a mens frame. For a womens specific fit try: http://www.realcyclist.com/roadbike/PIN0035/Pinarello-FP3-105-Bike.html?RSC_ID=CUS_PIN0035 or http://www.realcyclist.com/roadbike/PIN0020/Pinarello-FP3-Ultegra-Road-Bike-Womens.html?RSC_ID=CUS_PIN0020
By all means follow your bliss, but this incredibly sweet bike is massive overkill for commuting, plus I would be surprised if it's set up for racks or fenders or anything like that. But to each his or her own!
Every bike sizes a bit different and tri bike sizing probably shouldn't be used for a road bike commuter. I have helped a friend fit a bike and they tried to 54s one that fit right the other was way big. I suggest you find a road bike that fits well and write down the stand-over, effective top-tube, and seat tube measurements. From there you will be able to use those numbers to virtually compare other bikes general fit.
Don't for get to buy pedals if you don't have any. This information should help to explain how this bike would arrive to you: http://www.realcyclist.com/roadbike/newsletter/a759/The-Birth-of-a-Bike.html?cmp_id=EM_SAL11006a2&mv_pc=r105
