Pinarello FP3 Ultegra Bike - 2009

The Pinarello FP3 Ultegra Road Bike takes the racing know-how of the acclaimed Prince frame design and applies it to a chassis that mimics the performance of a full on race rig. The FP3’s full carbon monocoque frame allows for flowing tube shapes that give strength and stiffness where it’s needed, and eliminate weight where it is not. Add the proven-positive shifts of an Ultegra drivetrain to a responsive, lightweight frameset like this, and the end result is a road bicycle that accelerates, stops, and rails corners so well it will leave any competition sucking wind.

  • 30HM12k carbon frame and fork share the geometry and shape of the race-proven Prince
  • Ultegra Compact 50-34 crankset for high-cadence spinning
  • Tapered head tube (1-1/8” to 1-1/4”) for strength and light weight
  • ONDA-designed fork and seatstays kill fatiguing road vibration
  • Hand-painted color schemes for eye-catching stares

Bottom Line: A Prince carbon-copy.

I am very interested in the FP3 Ultegra but I am leary about

I am very interested in the FP3 Ultegra but I am leary about buying a bike online, due to the fear of not getting a perfect bike fit. I recently paid for a Pro bike fit through a local Trek Bike shop so I now have all of my critical measurements. When buying a bike through Real Cyclist, would you consider someone's specific measurements and set up the bike accordingly? (i.e., swap out long stem for a shorter one, or narrower handlebars, etc). I currently ride a '90's era Pinarello Galileo that is 56cm (it has been proven to be too big for me), but when I I have looked at the FP3 sizing chart I notice that in order to get the proper top tube length (54-55cm) I need a 53cm seat tube frame. Does this sound reasonable?
I didn't mean to ramble, but I want my next dream bike to be a dream fit and if I can do it through mail order I will.

Thank you

It sounds like you have been properly fitted already, you know you need a 54-55cm top tube, so the 53cm should be great. Most fitters will give you a stem length also so if this stem is too short you can change it out to a longer one. We also have a 30 day return policy so if the frame is completely off you can return it.

Ideally the internet sites and local bike shops can work hand in hand. There are not many Pinarello dealers around so you can use your fit numbers and get the correct frame size. If you cannot be fitted with current components then swapping parts can be supplemented by your local shop or online per advise of your fitter.

With all due repect to the benifits that internet sites over the consumer, if you want a dream fit on your next dream bike.... support your local bike shop. They should swap stems and work with you to achive your dreams. Fitting a bike is so much more than numbers on a chart, it's your butt in a saddle
