It's road season, and nothing says comfort and performance like the Shimano Men's SH-RT80 Road Cycling Shoe. Nylon mesh uppers provide high breathability and sweat evaporation. This shoe is only compatible with 2 bolt SPD style cleats typically found on Mtb pedals. This shoe will work with the Mountain pedal from Look but will not work with the Look Keo Line.

Great shoes for summer or fall with booties. I felt the size runs a little small, but not even a half size. They are very comfortable and I can find my petals easily (SPD). Be warned though, they are a little flashy.

Yes, that will work perfect. As long as you have the cleats that were include with the pedals, you won't need anything else; Otherwise you will need a pair of cleats:

My bike has pedal toes. My sneakers are too wide at the bottom to fit inside the toe straps without kicking and jamming them in while I'm trying to balance. These shoes look narrower. Is there any reason why they won't work in my situation. And what is a 2 hole SPD?

I don't see why not. They look quite sleek and form-fitting through the toe-box (slimmer than sneakers, definitely), so they should fit inside your toe-clips. For the money, though, these shoes would be best used as a part of a pedal upgrade to clipless pedals, too.

A "two hole" SPD refers to the bolt-pattern used to mount the cleat to the shoe when using clipless pedals. The 2-hole pattern is used more often in Shimano's mountain bike pedals and uses a smaller platform, as opposed to the 3-bolt pattern, which is road bike specific.

I have had this pair of Shimanos for over a season and think they are a great value. They don't have the stiffest sole but acceptable at this price range. I have a wider foot and the toe box area is just wide enough, though not as comfy as the Sidi Mega series. The bucket and velcro closures have held up nicely and expect to get quite a few more days out of these road shoes.
