Shimano Dura Ace ST-7900 STI Levers

Reduced weight, reduced effort, and a sleek, ergo silhouette set the Shimano Dura-Ace ST-7900 apart from both competitors and predecessors. Shimano revamped their old Dura-Ace dual levers with a new, more ergonomic hood design and a 20% reduction in shift throw for quicker shifts. Fully concealed cable routing further smoothes out the package, and you’ll appreciate the 40-gram weight savings over the ST-7800.

The ST-7900 is wireless FlightDeck computer compatible, and while designed for the 7900-series, mates with all 7800-series components EXCEPT the FD-7800 front derailleur.

When you're riding, dirt and grime doesn't really tend to get up that high. You'd probably collect more dust in the opening from the time you aren't riding, than from dirt off the road.

Why did Shimano expose the gears inside the lever? Isn't this a big issue road dirt and grim messing up the internals?
