My favorite bibs!

Capo Tempo Bib Short - Men's

Capo Tempo Bib Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 5, 2011

After reading some of the other reviews, especially with regard to fit, I thought I'd share my experience with these. I'm 5'6", ~ 155 lb, average build wrt leg/torso length. I always order 'Medium' bibs, regardless of manufacturer (Capo, Castelli, Giordana, etc) - and they always fit. Overall, some are a little tighter than others, but 'M' always works for me - so that's what I ordered when I picked up the Tempo bibs.

I can definitely relate to the comments posted by other reviewers about the unusually short straps on these. They're kind of high-waisted with shorter straps and it makes getting them on a bit of a challenge, even for me. Have to put them on (and wriggle out of them!) one arm a a time.

But - once they're on? - these are the most comfortable bibs I own (and I have an ever-growing collection of them). I barely notice the straps, the leg grippers are super-comfortable (much better than similarly priced Castelli Bormio, IMO, which had been my favorite until I tried these), and the chamois is perfect. Just thick enough (but not bulky), and soft enough to keep things comfortable all day. Also there seems to be a bit more room in the crotch 'for my junk' - which is nice.

I've got several hundred miles in these already, and won't hesitate to do centuries in them. I wouldn't pay $225 for them, but I'll be on the lookout for more when they show up on bonktown.

short & stout!

Cutter Tryke Cable Lock

Cutter Tryke Cable Lock

Rating for this product: 5 January 31, 2010

This lock is massive. I got one as part of the Cutter Commuter package on bonktown. Some reviewers there claim that it's too short to lock up both wheels, but that's just nonsense.

If you're worried about wheel theft (presumably because you use QR skewers), all you have to do is remove your front wheel and place it next to the rear - then run the lock through the frame and both wheels, then around the rack or whatever you're locking too. Not very difficult at all, really.

The only time any additional length would be beneficial is if you're trying to lock two or more bikes at the same time or if you need to lock it around a big tree or something. For one bike, on a rack, meter, sign or lightpost? This thing is burly and perfect. If it were any longer, it would just be (unnecessarily) heavier to carry around.

Good lock, great price!
