Awesome Classic Merino

Cutter Classic Merino Jersey - Men's

Cutter Classic Merino Jersey - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 11, 2009

The Cutter Classic Merino Jersey is nice. It is soft and doesn't feel scratchy, at all. It performs just as merino should. It keeps you warm when it's cold or wet and helps keep you cool when it's warm. I prefer this jersey when it's cool outside. When it's warm I do prefer to go short-sleeve (that's where the new Cutter Hoodlum will come into play).

I'm 6' tall and about 180 lbs and I wear the medium. The fit is tight, but not skin suit tight. I don't feel awkward walking around in this jersey. I have long arms and the arm length is just right for me.

I've worn the jersey close to 25 times and washed it half a dozen times. So far it isn't showing any wear. There are no snags and no pilling. I do wear it on multiple rides between each washing. By the time it dries post ride the smells are gone (gotta love merino).

It does feature three stash pockets with one small zipper pocket. It also has small reflective strips on the forearm seams to help increase nighttime visibility. The muted gray with green zips is nice and not flashy at all.

Overall this jersey is awesome. I'd buy another one but one is working just fine for me. Do yourself a favor and pick one up.

Solid U-Lock

Cutter Commuter U-Lock

Cutter Commuter U-Lock

Rating for this product: 5 November 10, 2009

What is there to say about a u-lock? Well the Cutter Commuter U-Lock is solid. I've been using mine for over a year and it's still going strong.

The locking mechanism is still good and running smooth (thanks to the keyhole cover).

The rubber sheathing over the 'U' is durable. Mine only has a couple of minor cuts/scratches but it isn't fraying or coming off (even after a year of use).

Zero rust. I use this lock everyday through blazing sun, rain, cold winter days, and snow. So far there isn't on speck of rust or other corrosion.

In short, it'd be hard to beat the Cutter Commuter U-Lock.

The Fuse is a Solid Floor Pump

Cutter Fuse Floor Pump

Cutter Fuse Floor Pump

Rating for this product: 5 November 10, 2009

I've had mine for about 5 months now and I haven't had any problems with it. It is solid, well made, and durable. I've used it a ton and you can hardly tell. The valve is super easy to use, the pressure gauge is reliable, and the pump action is smooth.

Now I haven't used many floor pumps but this one is better than others I've used.

Great rear safety light

Cutter District Rear Safety Light

Cutter District Rear Safety Light

Rating for this product: 4 November 10, 2009

Well worth the money for this light. The three rear facing LEDs are bright (brighter than other rear lights I've used). It also has two smaller LEDs that point out each side giving additional side visibility. The light has great battery life. It does use AAA batteries which is economical and easy to replace (no weird battery sizes).

Two minor drawbacks are: 1. Only steady mode, no optional flash. 2. The clothing/strap clip is attached to the light and is the same piece that connects to the seat post mount. If this breaks then the light won't attach to either. Just be careful.

Overall though, the positives far outweigh the negatives and I still give it 4 stars and would recommend it.

Knickerbocker is Money

Cutter Tech Knickerbocker - Men's

Cutter Tech Knickerbocker - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 6, 2009

So far I've put in about 15 days on the Cutter Tech Knickerbocker and I don't have a single negative thing to say about them. They hardly look like they've been worn. So pilling, abrasions, or other signs of wear.

First things first, I'm about 6' tall, 180 lbs. I typically wear a 34" waist in pants and they fit a little big. I have a medium in the Knickerbocker and fit around the waist is perfect. Just a little loose but they don't slide down. Length is just past my knees.

I've worn these on rides from everything from 40 degree mornings, to 85 degree sunny afternoons, 50 degree downpours, to 80 degrees with high humidity. They were comfortable and excelled in all conditions. They do get wet in heavy rain (imagine that) but repel light rains. They don't cling or snag when wet either. They do dry quickly.

The stretch fabric offers great range of motion. No tightness when swinging my leg over the bike to get on or off. It moves with you when you ride.

Plenty of pockets to store phone, keys, wallet, patch kit, small camera, u-lock ...pretty much anything you want. When empty you hardly notice that there's extra pockets.

These are now my go-to bottoms for anytime I ride. I wear them everyday when I commute. I would recommend them 100% to anyone and everyone.

They work

Serfas Tire Lever - 3 Pack

Serfas Tire Lever - 3 Pack

Rating for this product: 5 June 25, 2009

Awesome three pack. Small, light, fit nicely in the saddlebag. I read one review on another site that said "don't try and use these to put the tire on, only for taking off". Not sure what they were talking about. I've used these to take tires off and put them off without any issues. The tongue that slips under the tire is a little thin so you can't crank super hard, but you shouldn't need to crank super hard anyway. I'm buying another set for my mountain bike.

Cutter AL13 Bottle Cage - Aluminum Alloy

Rating for this product: 5 June 25, 2009

What can you say about a waterbottle cage? It looks nice, holds the bottle securely, and lets the bottle slide in and out easily (you don't have to muscle it around the metal like you do with other cages.

Nice Tool

Cutter Doc Y-Key - 4/5/6 Hex Key Wrench

Cutter Doc Y-Key - 4/5/6 Hex Key Wrench

Rating for this product: 5 June 1, 2009

The 4/5/6 hex key is a must have if you're doing any work on your bike at home. You get three of the common hex sizes. It's better than futzing with multi-tool or a folding hex set. For the price it's hard to beat.

Great Kids Helmet

Giro Rodeo Helmet Combo Pack - Kids'

Giro Rodeo Helmet Combo Pack - Kids'

Rating for this product: 5 August 7, 2008

I got this for my 18 month old daughter. On the smallest setting the helmet is still big for her, but she'll grow into it. I still have her wear it so she can get used to it.

Giro did an awesome job designing this helmet. The graphics are nice and I think they help with getting her to wear it. The small, build in brim helps give additional coverage on sunny days. The helmet is well constructed and has withstood the many "put it on, take it off, accidentally drop it down the stairs, put it on, etc".

The book is fantastic. It's helping to get my daughter stoked on bikes, going rides, and wearing her "hat". This combo pack is a definite win if you have kids, especially if you are trying to get them excited about biking.

The Park Tool MT-1C is a Great Little Tool

Park Tool Rescue Wrench - MT-1C

Park Tool Rescue Wrench - MT-1C

Rating for this product: 5 August 7, 2008

Yeah this little guy might not have every tool under the sun, but it has most all of the basics, and could definitely get you through in a pinch. It measures about 6" in length, is ridiculously light in weight (less than 2 oz), and fits nicely in my saddlebag. Park Tool hit a homerun with this one.
