Castelli Pro Gel Lite glove

Castelli Pro Gel Lite glove

Castelli Pro Gel Lite Cycling Glove

July 10, 2009

You can see the busted easy-off tab here betweeb pinky and ring finger, and the loose stitching at the bottom right. Not a huge deal, but both happened after about a day of use.

small!

Crank Brothers Power Pump

Crank Brothers Power Pump

Rating for this product: 4 August 6, 2009

I really like this pump. It's tiny - probably about as big as most CO2 inflators. It takes a lot longer to pump up than a CO2 pump, but you never need to worry about buying more cartridges for it, or how much air is left in your cartridge. If you don't get flats very often, this is a great little pump to toss in your pack and forget about - until you do get a flat. I've had mine for about 3 years now, and it still works just fine. Gunk doesn't seem to build up in it at all, like it does with some other mini pumps. If you just want something small that won't weigh you down, but will keep you from having to carry your bike home, this is it.

Castelli Pro Gel Lite Cycling Glove

Castelli Pro Gel Lite Cycling Glove

Rating for this product: 2 July 10, 2009

Not that impressed with these gloves. I wanted a glove with good padding for a long bike trip. These gloves have gel pads that are well ventilated, but don't really feel very cushy at all, and I ended up with a compressed ulnar nerve after a 90-mile day. Probably more my fault for not changing hand positions enough, but still, the padding didn't seem to help a whole lot. On top of that, one of the easy-off finger tabs came off on my second day wearing them, and the stitching on the heel part of the hand started to pull apart even before that. I do like the terry cloth snot area though, and they look good too.

LAS Kripton Helmet

LAS Kripton Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 June 2, 2009

This is a really nice helmet. It's light, has good ventilation, and most importantly, doesn't look huge on my head. it's got a removable liner thing that can be washed, which is nice. I also like the padding on the chin strap a nice touch for people who find the bare nylon straps uncomfortable.
