odd sizing - waist too big/legs too small

Hincapie Sportswear Barista Knicker - Women's

Hincapie Sportswear Barista Knicker - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 May 3, 2011

I really wanted to like these. I love knickers and I love the Hincapie brand. My favorite shorts are the Hincapie Power short - those shorts are made with cyclists quads in mind. So i was excited to get barista knicker. Man - did these look terrible on me! I ordered the xs. First of all the waist was too big - I could literally pull these on without unbuttoning the waist. And the legs (quads) were way too small - the legs fit like snug tights. I don't have very much cellulite on my thighs but these knickers showed every bump I do have! Yep - these puppies are going back!

Sleeves WAY TOO long - feels one size larger

Norrøna Fjora Flex Cycling Jacket - Women's

Norrøna Fjora Flex Cycling Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 May 3, 2011

I can't believe the msrp is $165. Even at the 60% off price it would be pushing it. On the good side - it *is* lightweight and I loved the dropped tail - plenty of coverage for the backside. I didn't actually ride with it to test the windproofness so I really can't speak to the functionality - I can only speak to the fit. The material did feel nice and soft. I ordered the xs caviar and it fit more like a large-ish small. Not close fitting (which is how I like my cycling clothes to fit) and the sleeves were 3 or 4 inches too long. The sleeves seemed really out of proportion to the rest of the jacket. Granted I do have short arms but most jackets are only 1 or 2 inches too long but this WAY long. If you have long arms and are a small the xs would probably be a good jacket for you.

Nicely constructed jacket - slim arms and fit

DeMarchi Contour Plus Jacket - Women's

DeMarchi Contour Plus Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 May 3, 2011

I ordered the white in xs. It is a little on the small side but I like my cycling clothes to be fitted. The arms are definitely snug and I was only able to fit a thin baselayer underneath. It was definitely close fitting on the torso too. (I'm 4'10" ~105lbs) I liked the fit and features - back pockets easy to access and the windblock material on the front/sleeves. I could easily see using this for days with temps in the 30s/40s. I would have kept it but I mainly mtn bike and I figured the white would get dingy really quick with the type of trails I ride so I sent it back. Sadly the black wasn't available in xs or small(I would have considered a small).

Answer to: "Has anyone ever seen a photo of this jacket on a woman anywhere?"

Cutter Cyclical Jacket with eVent - Women's

September 24, 2009

I'm 4'10" and weigh ~105lbs. The xs fits me perfectly. I've only ridden in moderately wet weather (not in an extreme downpour) and the jacket kept me dry and seemed to vent ok - as I didn't over heat.

I love the way the sleeves cover the backs of your hands while riding....my hands get cold quickly so having them protected was a nice touch. It looks really good on too...

great jacket - I love it

Cutter Cyclical Jacket with eVent - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 September 24, 2009

I had been eye-balling this jacket for a while but couldn't justify spending $300(!) on it....are you kidding me??

I'm an avid mtn biker so have good gear is important but I already had a rain jacket. BUT I'm also a big time weight weenie too and my other jacket is bulky and heavy - so I was super stoked when I saw this for 60% on bonktown.com. I snagged it. The xs fit perfectly (i'm 4'10" ~105lbs) and I LOVE the way the sleeves cover the backs of my hands.

I love this jacket so much and was *extremely* bummed and mad at myself when I lost it. I was racing at the Breck 100 and left my camelback with the Cutter jacket stuffed in the back at the race venue!!!! The race promoter said it was not turned into "lost and found".

ughh....but by then i was sold on the jacket- so I reluctantly ordered another one(it was on sale for 50% off at the time). so i ended up paying "full price" for one jacket.

On a whim I placed a 'lost and found' ad in the local paper offering a $25 reward and lo-and-behold some guy responded that he had found my camelback. I met up w/the guy - paid him the $ - got my jacket back and sent the "new" one I ordered back. Whew!

So all that's to say it's a great jacket, functional - lightweight(packs down very nicely) and stylish.
