The cleats on the bottom of the shoe is where the shoe will touch the ground and by using the toe cover, you would be placing the toe cover between the cleat and the ground which will ensure it to rip and tear after some walking. I would recommend the GORE-TEX® sock instead as it is totally windproof, waterproof and breathable and since it will be inside the shoe, it won't interfere with the shoe's cleats.
