Well, I guess these past the test. I wore these in Belgium last week & they seem to do the trick. I recommend the black color if foul weather is approaching. They kept my feet warm. I would not recommend these as a water barrier --- more like an insulating piece for 45 to 55 deg weather. You know where you don't need heavy shoe covers, but the toes would get cold if you had nothing. Also, I have a size 9.5/43 foot & the s/m were a tight fit. I would go for the L/XL if you have a larger foot then that.
