I bought this sock looking for primarily its wind-blocking properties to decrease cold, numb toes. I have used these now on seven rides, each approximately 40K distance. I used these over Smartwool socks, used Sidi Dominator shoes, and Castelli Neoprene shoecovers. All of the rides were before the sun came up, temperature ranging from 26F-32F with winds 20-30 mph creating wind chill reported ranging from 16F-22F. These sock coverts definitely made a difference in warmth. I found that I can actually use a thinner wool sock with these, which made my cycling shoes more comfortable. The fit was very good without bunching up or creating any high-friction areas. I would definitely recommend these sock covers for improved warmth. Worth the $50 compared to winter cycling shoes ranging upwards $350. I cannot comment on their waterproof properties at this point. The only slight negative is they are a little tight on my calf; however, this will be very anatomy-dependent.
