I have a pretty athletic body -- smaller waist, healthy butt, and stronger thighs -- and they fit great. The elastic doesn't cut off my legs, but I can see how they could. I wear a size 6 - 8 and I got a large -- no mediums left (also could be why the leg elastics aren't cutting off my thighs) so I kindof walk around like a cowboy.
