Awesome pedals

After riding the lower end Shimano pedals and having them get pretty stiff, I started doing some research on better pedals. If you look at the exploded view of these pedals on the pdfs from the Shimano website, all the insides are the same bearings until you get to the Dura-ace pedals. I have been on these for a couple thousand miles now and they are as smooth as the day I got them. Highly recommended.

I ordered my Pinarello Dura-Ace FP3 with these pedals. The bike was delivered separately from the pedals. I was assured it was an easy on installation. It could be with this addiitonal knowledge. As it says in the installation directions, the right pedal (marked R) has a clockwise thread, whereas the left pedal (marked L) has a counterclockwise thread. I didn't have the appropriate spanner, but did have an Allen wrench of the proper size. The Allen wrench, being applied from behind (bike side) of the pedal, means than now to install the pedals, you must turn the wrench counterclockwise for the right pedal and clockwise for the left...(the opposite from the directions). The beginning of the threads are very tight..at least they were on mine. When I started to thread the pedals on, it felt like it was cross-threaded, so I started again...and again, and again. I finally mustered the courage to just continue...I broke through the tight initial thread, and from then on, they went on smoothly. As far as their operation is concerned, they work well...release is readily adjustable to accommodate anyone's preference. This is a good purchase
